ARRA and Head Start
ARRA increased funding for Head Start by $ 1 billion and Early Head Start by $ 1.1 billion. The supplemental Head Start funds will be awarded to existing Head Start grantees. The supplemental Early Head Start funds are expansion funds that will be awarded competitively. Up to 10% of the Early Head Start supplemental funds will be available for training and technical assistance and up to 3% of the Early Head Start supplemental funds will be available for monitoring.
